Joshua Tree Engagement Session

I LOVE working with these two! Their Joshua Tree Engagement session is just.. hot damn! I met Karina at one of my March weddings where she was a bridesmaid  and sister of the groom. She was ON IT! Helping her sister-in-law all day, fluffing the dress, checking makeup, helping her with various little things like carrying the train, bathroom duty, etc. I remember when they reached out Karina asked if i remembered her. Like for real for real, and I was like YES HOW COULD I NOT?! Both her and Erick are so down to earth and insanely in love with each other. This whole session was us cracking jokes and one liners.

One of my favorite parts of the day was Erick telling me how shy he was and how he was nervous about taking pics. Five minutes later it was as if he walked off a catalog ad LOL! It’s always a plus hearing not just from the bride, but the groom specifically. When they tell you how you made the session fun and made them forget pics were being taken, it is a serious win!

This was actually my second session with them. Sadly, we went out a few weeks prior to a different area in Joshua Tree and I had my first memory card corrupted/was damaged from the elements. It was a situation I was sure would happen one day, but once it came it felt unreal. Karina & Erick extended me so much grace when in reality they didn’t have to. We both came to terms with the situation and decided that maybe this was the shittiest sign telling us this second session would be 1000x’s better.

The biggest thing for me was not making this second session just seem like a “re-do” where we do EVERYTHING exactly as the first session, but a whole new session. We wanted it different and “better” than the first. We decided on a different spot in Joshua Tree and I brought a bottle of champagne to pop to kick off the session. I can’t rave about this session enough, and although it came with a price, I feel as though the pics speak for themselves. Karina and Erick have been so understanding when they didn’t have to. I can’t thank them enough and I can’t WAIT for their wedding next year!
