Ingrid and Jamil were not the couple I was supposed to photograph this day! The SoCal traffic was sadly working against the sweet couple I had planned to meet in Joshua Tree for a sunset session and they were not going to be able to get there in time. *SIGH* Now came the question every photographer must ask themselves when this unfortunate situation occurs: Do I stay and search for another photo opportunity or turn right back around and head home photo-less?
I decided to try to make the trip worth my while. Doing my best Joe (from You) impression, I began the hunt for a couple in need of a photographer in the desert. I pulled off on the side of the road and did my best non-creepy stalking only to discover that each couple was already paired with a photographer. But alas- off in the distance I noticed one gorgeous couple taking their own pictures with a tripod and no photographer in sight! I approached them and politely said, “HI I KNOW THIS IS WEIRD BUT CAN I TAKE YOUR PICTURE FOR YOU?” I, of course, followed up with, “I swear I’m not a Ted Bundy type of person.” YOLO! Thankfully, they were so kind and appreciative and let me steal 15 minutes of their time.
Moral of the story: everything happens for a reason and this was no different! Meeting them couldn’t have been more meant to be. I mean, look at them! So, without further ado, Ingrid and Jamil, ladies & gentlemen.
I get the party started so you can have unique photos that feel as fun as they look. We’ll bottle up the vibe of your entire relationship - not just one day.
